A suspected paper leak involving the Third Year BCom (TYBCom) examination of the University of Mumbai has come under investigation, with authorities initiating a probe by the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

The issue pertains to allegations that question papers were circulated before the scheduled examination, triggering concerns over exam security and malpractice within the university system.

State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has taken cognizance of the matter and directed officials to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident. The minister has sought a comprehensive report on how the breach occurred and whether internal lapses were involved.

Following initial complaints, the university administration and law enforcement agencies began examining the source of the leak and the individuals responsible. Officials are also reviewing whether the incident was isolated or part of a larger pattern of malpractice.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over examination integrity in higher education institutions in Maharashtra. The university has assured strict action against those found guilty after the completion of the investigation.

Further details are awaited as the CID probe continues.
