In 480 civic schools, students are taught by modern method i.e. virtual classroom. With the increase in the speed of internet, the mode of education in municipal school will become faster.
This will benefit students to a large extent. In future due to modernization, students can attend lectures at home. Therefore, from this academic year, 202 new schools with virtual classrooms will be newly started. A provision of approximately Rs. 21 crores 84 lakhs has been made for this.
The virtual classroom opened in BMC schools in 2011. At that time only 24 schools were included. Now, this service is available in 480 schools. Out of which 188 are Marathi medium schools, 150 Hindi medium , 90 Urdu medium and 52 English medium schools.
