The merit list for the third round of engineering courses in the state was announced on Thursday evening. Out of 1 lakh 19 thousand 23 students who had filled their preference, 98,055 students have got the opportunity to get admission. After the low response rate in the first two rounds, it will be important to see how many students get admission in the third round.

In the two rounds of engineering courses, 64,841 out of 1,83,000 seats were filled. Therefore, the third merit list was announced through the State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell for admission to the remaining 1 lakh 18 thousand 919 seats. 1 lakh 19 thousand 23 students had filled their preference for the third list. Of the students who filled their preference lists, 98,055 seats were announced. Of these, 9,706 students got their first six preferred colleges.

Students who have been shortlisted for admission in this list will have to go to the college in person between August 22 and 25 to take admission. After that, the details of the vacant seats will be announced on August 26.

Many had not changed their preference much by the second round, hoping to get a reputed institute and desired branch. Therefore, although some meritorious students got the expected admission, students with low percentiles were waiting for admission.

In the third round, students had submitted new preferences. Students who had got the opportunity to attend a 'best college' had also filled in their preferences. Therefore, it is expected that many will get admission in the desired institution and branch this time. It now depends on how many students will take admission.
