MHT-CET 2018 results are out and Bhayander resident Kushal Rathi stood first in Mumbai by scoring 191 out of 200 in PCM category. Mumbai Live spoke to Rathi about his goals and MHT-CET results.

Did the result startle you?

The actual date of the result was June 4, 2018. But, then I understood that results have been declared. When I saw my marks on mobile, I was more than happy.

You secured the second position across the state and first in Mumbai. Had you thought about it?

I got to know from the media and my professor that I stood first in the city and second in the state. My joy knew no bounds. I studied very hard and gave my 100 per cent. I knew that I will get good marks but I had not anticipated that I would come first in Mumbai and second in the state.

What is the secret of your success?

I believe that one can achieve success through hard work. I did the same in Class 10 exams and I scored more than 90 per cent. Later, while completing 11th and 12th appeared for JEE and MHT-CET exams. Since the last two years, I was preparing for this exam. I used to religiously study for 7-8 hours at my residence and around 4-5 hours in coaching classes.

Whom will you dedicate your success?

I thank Hitesh Bechra, Parimal Patel, Pranav Gandhi, Gyanprakash Pandey sir of ‘The Science Private Hub’ class. They are more than professors, they are like my elder brothers. This was my first time I appeared for this exam and all my professors helped me in achieving my aim. So, I dedicate my success to Hitesh sir.

Did you face any hurdles while preparing for this exam?

Though I appeared for this exam for the first time, the paper was easy relatively. PCM consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths and as I enjoy these subjects, it was easy for me to solve the paper.

What is your aim?

I want admission in IIT institute where I want to make my career in Computer Science. I have appeared for its entrance exam as well and the result will be out on June 10, 2018.
