The board exams for Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), also known as Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), will begin today, March 4, 2022. The exams are being conducted in the offline mode for all the students across the various exam centres.

This year, student-friendly approach has been taken into consideration as the exams are being held offline amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The paper will start at 10.30 am, opposed to the earlier 11 am, in order to provide additional time provided to students to complete the paper as many do not have enough writing practice due to online learning.
  • The syllabus has also been reduced to lessen the burden and pressure of appearing offline exams after nearly two years.
  • Candidates have been allowed to sit for the exams in their respective schools and junior colleges.
  • In a first of its kind, state board issued special helplines to help resolve any doubts that students might have regarding the offline examination. This was introduced after many students opposed the offline exam.
  • Moreover, the exam will be held in two shifts: the morning shift will begin at 10:30 am and end at 2:00 pm, and the afternoon shift will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 6:30 pm. Students must adhere to the Board Examination schedule.
  • The exam will be conducted in shifts as more than 25 students will not be permitted in a class in order to maintain social distancing
  • The board has also increased the number of exam centres for the safety of the students.
  • The students will be given 10 minutes to read question paper.
  • The board has also asked all exam centres to arrange for a medical team to standby in case students face any problems so that they can be given the necessary help.

Since the exams will be conducted offline due to a significant drop in the coronavirus cases, it is pertinent to note that the students and staffs of the schools must adhere to state COVID-19 guidelines.

Here are the Guidelines to be followed on exam day:

  • Students will have to carry their face mask, hand sanitizer along with a printout of their admit card. Students are required to wear their masks at all times and maintain social distancing in the premises.
  • Candidates will have to go to the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time
  • Students must also check their seating order and report to the concerned room.
  • They are not allowed to carry any type of electronic devices to the exam hall. The banned items in the exam centre include mobile phones, electronic devices, headphones, and any other electronic gadgets.
