Selection for Mumbai University’s new vice-chancellor begins

The appointment procedure for Mumbai University’s new vice-chancellor has begun from April 13, 2018. For the same, 32 people will be interviewed at Nariman Point’s CIDCO office by senior scientist Dr Kasturirangan-led committee.


Governor will appoint the vice-chancellor

The interviews will be held on Friday and Saturday and the list of the five final applicants will be handed over to the governor. These five final applicants will work on a presentation about Mumbai University in front of the Maharashtra governor.

Who will be the new governor?

Last year, vice-chancellor Dr Sanjay Deshmukh was ousted from the Mumbai University. After this, Shivaji University’s vice-chancellor Dr Devanand Shinde was appointed as a temporary vice-chancellor.
