Maharashtra Minister of School Education Varsha Gaikwad has appealed to the students to come forward and take the offline examinations as a part of the “we can do it offline exam” in order to secure their academic future amidst the pandemic.

Gaikwad further stated that the state government has been trying to conduct the examinations of standard 10th and 12th in a safe environment in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, on Thursday, March 11, a meeting on State Secondary and Higher Secondary Board examinations was held at Bal Bhavan on Charni Road in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of School Education Vandana Krishna, Project Coordinator of SSC Board Dinkar Patil, Dinkar Temkar, Deputy Director Vikas Garad along with officers and teacher representatives of the concerned department.

Furthermore, she added that if there are any other suggestions with regards to the schedule, the concerned individuals should submit the same which will lead to a positive decision that is to be taken in consultation with the advisory committee. Minister Varsha Gaikwad, in conclusion, stated that a uniform decision will be taken for the students of the entire state regarding the practical examination and general submission.

Meanwhile, a lecture series is being started on the Sahyadri channel by the government and programs are also being conducted for important questions and exercises for the preparation of the examinations. According to sources, students will soon be given an FAQ on the website for common questions. On the other hand, the residential schools which are closed, accommodation and examination facilities will be provided only for the students of class X ahead of the examinations.
