Results for Maharashtra's 253 non-state schools have been released by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).

In an astounding achievement, five students hailing from Mumbai and Thane have secured the coveted first position in the ICSE class X board exams. 

Ranking Students from MMR Region

With an overall score of 99.8%, Shreya Upadhyay (Bombay Scottish School, Mahim), Advay Sardesai (Campion School, Fort), Yash Bhasein (Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School), Tanay Shah (Kapol Vidyanidhi International School, Kandivali), and Hiya Sanghavi (Children's Academy, Malad) tied for first place nationally with four other students from the rest of the country.

Among the high achievers, Ipshita Bhattacharyya from Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane has emerged as the top performer, securing the first rank (AIR 1) with an outstanding score of 99.75% on the ISC exam (XIIth boards).

Maharashtra Leads the Way

Maharashtra has emerged as a trailblazer in the realm of education, surpassing all expectations by achieving a remarkable success rate of 99.8% in the ICSE class X exams. This accomplishment speaks about the state's commitment to fostering quality education and nurturing young minds. Outperforming the rest of the country, Maharashtra's exemplary performance has placed it at the forefront of educational excellence.

State Merit List

The state merit list comprises 70 pupils with scores ranging from 99.80% to 99.40%. Out of these, five students clinched the first rank, 21 students secured the second rank, and 44 students achieved the third rank on the state merit list.

Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School has not only produced the highest scorer but has also topped the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) with an impressive presence of 10 students on the merit list. These include four ISC students and six ICSE students. 

Following closely in the second position in the city are Bombay Scottish School in Mahim and Powai, with eight ICSE students making their mark. Moreover, Children's Academy in Kandivali and Malad, along with Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School in Kandivali, have also showcased their academic prowess by having five students each on the ICSE merit list.

High Achieving Schools 

The outstanding achievements were not limited to individual students but also extended to schools that stood out amidst the academic landscape. Jamnabai Narsee School saw a remarkable increase in scores, with nearly 70% of its students achieving 90% or more. Cathedral and John Connon School achieved an impressive feat as well, with over 83% of its students scoring 90% or higher. Dhirubhai Ambani International School demonstrated exceptional excellence, as all 32 of its students achieved scores above 91%, with 27 students receiving grades higher than 95%. Two exceptional students from the school even secured a remarkable score of 99%.

New Exam Pattern 

Out of 2.37 lakh candidates, an overwhelming majority of 2.35 lakh successfully passed the exams. Notably, the new exam pattern, incorporating multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and application-based queries, played a pivotal role in the students' impressive scores.

This year's examination pattern introduced a blend of the pre-Covid and Covid examination patterns. Moreover, this year witnessed an overall improvement in the students' performance compared to the previous year. Many schools witnessed a surge in their results, with a higher number of students scoring 90% or above.
