Mumbai – Instead of a strict action, the education department has let off with only a warning the Manohar Kotwal High School at Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli that had forced students to sit on the ground for not paying school fees. This has created a feeling of resentment among the parents who have raised a question whether the education department wants to suppress the case of inhuman treatment to students.
Mumbai Live had exposed the case as to how the school was playing with the future of students who could not manage to pay the fees on time. The education department had ordered an inquiry into the matter. School inspector of North-ward of the BMC, Anil Sable, had listed the sides of school trust and parents. During the hearing on this matter, it clearly came to notice that the school had done wrong with the students. Still, the school management has been let off by the education department and it has asked the school only to hold a meeting on the issue of fees.
When contacted to the BMC education inspector, he said that for the time being, the school has been issued a warning. He did not specify which action is going to be taken against the errant school. Mumbai Live will continue to keep a close watch on developments in this case.
