More than 3,500 students from Mumbai have been selected to enter in the 25 per cent Right to Education (RTE) quota. Under the Right to Education (RTE) scheme, children from underprivileged families are given seats in private institutions. Admission for students will be held from April 11 to April 26.
A total of 11,584 applications were received during the first registration round held between March 5 and 30 for the Mumbai region, this year. A total of 7,491 seats were available in 356 schools in the area. While 2,789 students have been allotted school of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board, 743 got admission in other boards like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE).
The Education Department has also introduced a mobile app to reach as many parents as possible. In the country, a total of 67,706 students were selected for 1,16,799 seats in 9,195 schools.
