The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) has announced the academic calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, along with the schedule for polytechnic admissions across the state. Admissions for first-year diploma courses in engineering, technology, and architecture will begin from May 20, officials said.

According to the schedule, classes for newly admitted first-year diploma students are expected to commence from August 5. The admission process will continue through June and July, with July 31 set as the final deadline for admissions.

The revised curriculum has been introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and includes subjects such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), drone technology, machine learning, data analytics, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and electric vehicle technology. Authorities said the updated syllabus is aimed at improving industry readiness and skill-based education.

Officials also stated that diploma students will now have access to bilingual learning and examination facilities in Marathi and English. The industrial training period in diploma courses has reportedly been extended from six weeks to 12 weeks to strengthen practical exposure.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) said detailed information regarding registration, merit lists, and admission rounds will be made available on its official portal.
