More students can secure admissions in reputed colleges: State Board assures applicants

The Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has prompted the colleges to extend their admission process to allow the students to secure admission in their desired colleges

In comparison to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) students, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) students scored fewer marks which has raised concerns amongst the students and their parents. The students are worried that due to the stern marking system by the state board, they might not be able to secure admissions in their desired colleges.

However, in order to counter the issue raised by the state board applicants, MSBSHSE has extended the number of vacant seats in colleges by approving an extension. Alongside, the Maharashtra State Board has also asked the colleges to close the admission procedure for minority quota students and instead provide seats under open category.

Earlier, reputed colleges would conclude the admission procedure after declaring second or third merit list. However, post the intervention by the state board, students will now be able to secure admissions with ease under the special merit list.

In order to assist students to secure admissions, these colleges diluted the cut-off per cent and ensured that maximum students could secure admission in their desired colleges.
