The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on Monday. Candidates will be able to see their results on cbseneet.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in.

The cut-off marks for the general category has slid off this year with 50 percent i.e. 119 out of 720 marks. Last year, this was set at 131 marks. For OBC, SC, ST categories, the cut off is 40%, i.e. 96 marks which was 107 marks this year. More than seven lakh students have been eligible for counselling round this year.

The NEET was conducted across 345 centres in Maharashtra on May 6. Over 13 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. The CBSE released the answer key for the exam on May 27. According to experts, the difficulty level of the examination was high. Hence, there is a possibility that the cut-offs will be low this year.

The All India Merit list will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the examination. The CBSE will also declare various ranks of the candidates. The NEET results were to be announced on June 5.

India’s common entrance test for admission to medical and dental colleges, NEET was conducted on May 6.
