Decision regarding the same was announced by Minister Uday Samant. Implementing the same, the government said that the tuition fees as well as other fees will be reimbursed for the eligible students

Maharashtra State's Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Uday Samant, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, said that government would priority to the children of police personnel, residents of the state, military and paramilitary personnel who died in terrorist attacks, for one of the vocational education in the state.

This will be implemented under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Technical Education and the preference will be given under the institutional quota and at the institutional level for the vacancies in the centralized admission process.

Sharing more information in this regard, Samant said that as per the decision taken by the respective department, dated February 27, 2008, orders have been issued to provide free education to the families of police and other state government employees who were martyred in the Mumbai terror attack. 

Accordingly, the tuition fees as well as other fees will be reimbursed by the government for the eligible students.

Expressing his sympathy further, for the families of the brave martyrs who have been martyred for national defence, Samant said that it was necessary to provide financial support as well as proper education to their families. Giving priority to the children of such martyrs for technical vocational and postgraduate courses in private non-subsidized institutions was a significant move.

Reports state that the decision will also benefit the children of military or paramilitary personnel who were martyred in a terrorist attack on the border with the state of Maharashtra. The guidelines will be applicable for admissions in and after the academic year 2020-21.
