Indian students guided on educational facilities in Russia

The Russian Consulate in India had recently organised a ‘Russian Education Fair’ at its consulate on Peddar Road here to help Indian students to get enrolled in the Russian institutes for higher studies.

The fair was inaugurated at the hands of Dementiv Vladimir, vice consulate general of Russian Federation in Mumbai. The Indian students were given information on educational opportunities in Russia.

Presently, 10,000 Indian students are taking education in Russian institutes.

The students were informed that they need to obtain at least 50% marks in their core subjects or in degree certificates from any stream to secure their admission in the Russian educational institutes. The marks limit for students from SC/ST and OBC communities is 40%.

Many renowned universities and educational institutes in Russia are offering admissions to Indian students. The Indian students will be offered educational facilities in medical, engineering, aviation, aerospace, nuclear power technology, power plant management, etc.

The Russian consulate had organised similar fairs in Delhi, Kolkata, Trivandrum and Chennai.

The features of Russian Education Programme are:

1. To provide admission to Indian students in Russian educational institutes
2. To establish contact between students and their parents with professors and international representatives of Russian institutes
3. Spot admission facilities for aspiring students
4. To provide them free admission and free air ticket
