Mumbai University: Rating From NAAC Valid Till 2028

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council accorded the rating to Mumbai University. This rating will be valid for seven years in contrast to the usual five years till 2028.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accorded the rating to Mumbai University. This rating will be valid for seven years in contrast to the usual five years till 2028, stated reports.

Institutes that are high-performing are offered an extension through the means of a score which is given by the council.

Recently, the University of Mumbai attained an A++ rating along with a score of 3.65 CGPA, this made it one of the most prominent public rated universities in Maharashtra, to date. In addition to this, in accordance with the New Education Policy, the University of Mumbai will be acknowledged as a research university.

According to the report by the Mid-Day, Dr Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor of the University elaborated that it is a matter of pride for the Mumbai University which is one of the oldest leading universities in India to attain the foremost rating of A++ grade from NAAC. Adding that the extension of seven years is an immense credit and honour for its impeccable performance in the five-star segment attained in 2001 along with the foremost ranked A status attained in 2012. He further elucidated that the extension of seven years instead of five makes the university eligible for Grade One Autonomy and University with Excellence. This with the New Education Policy will establish the university’s place as a “Research University”, highlighted the narrative.
