University of Mumbai Receives A++ Rating By NAAC

The University of Mumbai has been accorded A++ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The educational institution has received a 3.65 marking which was officially announced by the NAAC, stated reports.

The NAAC Assessment Committee in Bangalore had visited various departments of Mumbai University on August 24, 25 and 26. During the visit, the curriculum implemented by the university for academic progress, the performance of the university, infrastructure, governance, research, curriculum aspects and other matters were inspected. After that, Mumbai University received the rating by NAAC.

A member of the university’s senate, Pradeep Sawant highlighted that Mumbai University has been rated A++. With this feat, it has become the best-rated public university in Maharashtra.

On Tuesday afternoon, this news was acknowledged by Baliram Gaikwad the university’s registrar. The administration is said to have worked hard to put together the requisite data and were awaiting inspection which was delayed twice due to the pandemic.

Four years after the expiry of its NAAC rating, it has received the said accreditation. Earlier in 2012, it had received an A grade by the NAAC with a 3.05 CGPA which expired on April 20, 2017, mentioned accounts.
