According to reports, Mumbai University (MU) is about to receive the National Accreditation and Assessment Board (NAAC) rating four years after it expired.

On Tuesday, August 24, the team of NAAC is reportedly to visit the campus of MU in order to conduct an inspection for three days. Moreover, the university is likely to get accreditation within a month of the peer team’s visit.

Meanwhile, the NAAC team is touted to assess the university on seven parameters, ranging from teaching and learning, infrastructure, governance and curricular aspects. Earlier, it had submitted the self-study report in 2020, after a delay of around three years. Furthermore, the peer team visit got delayed twice due to the second wave of the coronavirus and has finally been scheduled now. In the past, the MU was graded A.

On the other hand, in the academic year 2021-22, Mumbai University is offering a range of financial assistance to its students. According to reports, those looking to get themselves admitted into an undergraduate college in Mumbai University will gain by nearly Rs 1,700. This is because costs for several campus facilities and fees have been curtailed. Additionally, if a student has lost either one or both parents to the coronavirus, they will receive a 100% fee waiver.

On the first day of admissions at Mumbai University, a total of 52,040 applications were recorded. Auxiliary charges have significantly been reduced, whilst aided college tuition of Rs 800 and Rs 3,000-6,000 for unaided courses, hasn’t been changed.
