Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Tuesday that science and technology activities should be implemented in such a way as to benefit the farmers and that it will be given all-out support.

Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission Chairman, Senior Scientist Dr. Anil Kakodkar informed about the functioning of the commission and the innovative action programs being implemented for socio-economic development through science and technology.

In the meeting, it was decided to start a science centre in Thane, to start a science and innovation activity centre in every district, to complete the ongoing project at Lonar Sarovar (District Buldhana) at speed. Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik was present in this meeting. It was also decided to integrate the Commission's biomedical device manufacturing activities and various projects, Biomedical Park, Maharashtra Gene Fund, MSME Internship for Engineering Students with various schemes and policies.


Development of 18 new towns along Samruddhi Highway

Herbs are abundant in our forests and surroundings. Farmers are also aware of them. By adding value to all these natural assets, farmers should benefit from it. Technology has to be made available to preserve the perishable goods of farmers for a long time. This will enable the development of 18 new towns along Samruddhi Highway. Shinde said that there will be development in terms of various infrastructure facilities here.
