In a welcome decision, the State government has decided to fill up the vacant posts of teachers in granted schools across the state by following the pattern of centralised eligibility test.

The education department officials have informed that the appointments of teachers will be made purely on the basis of merit and this step will weed out corruption in teachers’ appointment process.

Many teachers’ organisations had demanded to education minister Vinod Tawde to check malpractices in the appointments of teachers in private and granted schools. Taking note of this demand, the education department has now decided to implement online examination procedure for appointments of teachers. This rule will not be applicable for private non-granted schools.

Education minister Vinod Tawde said that this decision would help students to get quality teachers and it would weed out corruption in the recruitment process.
