As per reports, the Maharashtra government will permit students to appear for their final year examinations from their homes amidst the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The absolute decision regarding the same is expected in the next two to three days. Moreover, a committee of vice-chancellors from several universities had earlier met on Sunday to discuss the best possible method for conducting the final-year examinations.

It can be expected that the report regarding the same to be submitted by Wednesday to the higher and technical education department. The report is touted to be later discussed before the state disaster management authority, which is spearheaded by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, for final the final decision.

Uday Samant, Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, speaking to the media about the final-year examinations had stated that they will be held in the first week of October further adding that the government has been considering the possibility of taking the examinations online.

In a press conference held in Mumbai, Samant stated that amidst the pandemic, the health of the students is of utmost priority which is why the government has decided to conduct it in the month of October. He also stated that some of the universities will announce the results by October 31, while the rest will announce the results by November 10.
