After parents protested against the unfair rise in tuition fees by Dahisar’s Rustomjee International School (Un-Aided), Shiv Sena’s Youth Wing – Yuva Sena – has protested against the illegitimate hike in school fee.

Earlier, Rustomjee School decided to raise the fee of grade 1 by 10 per cent with the consent of the parents. However, the school took the liberty to increase the fee grade 2 and 3 as well. This did not go well with the parents and they protested against the unauthorised fee hike.

As this happened, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) education department carried out an investigation on the same. Earlier for the year 2016-17, the fee for the first grade was decided at ₹32,760 which was increased to ₹36,050 for the academic year 2017-18. Now, for the year 2018-19, the schools charge ₹50,400 as the tuition fee which amounts to a 40 per cent hike in the school’s fee.

After the parents' complaint of this unfair raise and Education Committee member Sainath Durge intervention, the BMC conducted an inquiry in this regard. However, despite this, no action has been taken against the school by BMC’s education department.

Thus, the parents asked Yuva Sena to intervene in this matter. Yuva Sena protested in the school premises and gave an ultimatum of eight days to school to rectify this matter.
