Mirzapur, the crime-thriller that revolves around the life of Akhandanand Kaleen Tripathi, is all geared up for the second season and will premiere on Amazon Prime on October 23, 2020.

The show that garnered a lot of favourable reviews from the critics and the audiences alike is based on the criminalistics of Akhandanand Tripathi, i.e, Kaleen Bhaiyya, the millionaire carpet exporter and the mafia don of Mirzapur. It eventually snowballs into a game of ambition, greed and power, has Munna, the unworthy heir and son of Kaleen Bhaiyya up to antics to prove his worth in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh. In a quick look back to gear ourselves up for the second season, let us try to recollect that events of the show chronologically.

On the good side of the spectrum lives Ramakant Pandit, a fearless and an idealistic lawyer. Ramakant has 3 kids; Guddu, Bablu and Dimpy. All hell breaks loose when Guddu marries Sweety, the love of Munna’s life. Pretty reminiscent of the Red Wedding of Game of Thrones, Munna hijacks another wedding killing Sweety, Bablu and injuring Guddu.

However, in an interesting turn of events, Sharad is shown to be shaving his head in remembrance of his father wanting Mirzapur. Who is Sharad some might ask, if we go back to the previous episodes, we could remind ourselves of Kaleen Bhaiyya’s rivalry with Rati Shankar, the one who was killed by Guddu. Sharad happens to be the son of Rati Shankar. This is especially important as the sequence at the end of the series signifies that he will make an entry into politics, something he did not want to do in the first place, ultimately to avenge his father's death.

Now, this creates a perfect ending for season one as there would be multiple possibilities with regards to rivalry for a season two. The anger of Guddu against Tripathi and the anger of Sharad against both Guddu for killing his father and Tripathi for wanting to complete his father’s wish, i.e to get hold of Mirzapur.
