The pre-production of the national award-winning Marathi filmmaker, Nagraj Manjule’s debut Hindi film, Jhund has started.

As per the recent developments, Bhushan Kumar has come on board for the film. Jhund is a story based on real-life account and portrays sports as a reformatory tool for kids. It will also touch upon the issues of drug abuse and crime.

Amitabh Bachchan was earlier signed for the film as the lead. But due to several delays, the actor opted out. When Bhushan Kumar, who has already worked with Big-B in Bhootnath Returns, came by and read the script, he liked it and decided to convince Bachchan to come back to the film. He then met with the actor and sought fresh dates from him for the shoot.

BigB will play a retired sports teacher who starts a slum soccer movement.
