BJP legislator Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday filed a criminal complaint against renowned Director Anurag Kashyap for hurting sentiments of Sikhs via his web series “Sacred Games” which airs on Netflix.

The BJP leader further accused Kashyap of “disrespecting” Sikh and Hindu sentiments through several portrayals in the Netflix original web series, which has been co-directed by him. Moreover, Sirsa further accused Kashyap of “spreading communal content”.

Sirsa, who is an MLA from Rajouri Garden in Delhi, had raised the issue with Information and Broadcasting minister while demanding strict action against Anurag Kashyap and Sacred Games.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga also registered a complaint at Parliament Street police station against Anurag Kashyap for hurting his religious sentiment and Sikh ‘Kakaars’.

The objection against Kashyap and Sacred Games was drawn over a scene where Saif Ali Khan’s character (Sartaj Singh) – a Sikh – throws his ‘Kada’ in the sea. ‘Kakaars’ are religious symbols adopted by Sikhs.
