September 28 marks Lata Mangeshkar's 94th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah paid their tribute to the legendary singer. Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 years on February 6, 2022.

Lata Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929 and started her career at the age of 13  and recorded songs in over 36 languages. She is known as the 'Queen of Melody' and 'India's Nightingale'. She had an illustrious career spanning over seven decades, starting from her first break in the 1948 film, 'Majboor', with the song 'Dil Mera Toda, Mujhe Kahin Ka Na Chhora', with lyrics by Nazim Panipati.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on her birth anniversary.


Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Raj Thackeray wrote an homage to late Lata Mangeshkar on Twitter. He wrote, “The birthday of Lata Didi, the voice that did not leave behind, supported me in the emptiness, noise, happiness, sadness, excitement, happiness of my life. Salutations to this divine voice that will touch the lives of millions of people like me.”



Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on Twitter.
