A regular in your living room is a face for many ad commercials, the Sumit Sambhal Lega actress Manasi Parekh found her Bollywood calling with critically acclaimed & commercially super-hit Uri, the surgical strike opening a door of opportunities. The actress has now shot for a short film for an international film festival, a film that revolves around women in slum area & touches a sensitive topic. Apparently, the actress even spent a couple of days living in a chawl in Mumbai for the shoot.

Basking in the glory of her recent film, Laddoo being one of the 7 short films chosen to be screened at the prestigious MAMI film festival, Manasi hopes for a similar fate for her upcoming film, she shares, "Laddoo struck a chord with the audience and I still get messages from people for the sweet story. This time around it is a rather sensitive & thoughtful topic that will highlight the plight of women from the slums. It had to feel right & real so we chose to shoot it with them. I practically lived there for 3 days, I wore a dress that belonged to one of those women there sans makeup. It is a first for me & I'm lucky to be a part of such powerful storytelling that will make a difference."

The short film is directed & written by Ritam Shrivastav. Manasi to play alongside Secret Superstar fame actor Raj Arjun.
