Padma Bhushan, an Academy, Oscar, and Golden Globe-winning composer, and Dr. A.R. Rahman have presented the first look and teaser for a feature documentary titled 'Headhunting to Beatboxing'. The 77th Cannes Film Festival in France served as the reveal location.
According to an official announcement from the Nagaland government's promotional department, Rahman premiered the film with the Chief Minister's adviser and President of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, as well as the Task Force's Chairman for Music and Arts.
'Headhunting to Beatboxing' is a musical documentary about a tribe lost in the depths of violence and bloodshed in India's far northeast which revives itself via the healing power of song and rises through a music revival.

It shows the evolution of music through generations, rhythm, and fascinating journeys into sound. When questioned about feature documentaries, Rahman said, "Music has the transforming power of changing and adding society and bringing significance to existence." 'Headhunting to Beatboxing' is a celebration of the universal rhythm that links humanity in its many forms. Abu Metha, one of the documentary's executive producers, said it is a story about Naga musicians which is both historical and an example of Naga youth's enthusiasm, desire, and renewed trust in themselves.
The actual hero of the film is the Nagaland composer. It is very motivating that our young people are beginning to create new stories and share the wonderful stories of our country and people with the rest of the world via their talents. This is a fantastic chance for our young artists to receive advice and direction from Grammy and Golden Globe winner AR Rahman," Metha said in a post on X, praising Ryman for his perspective and always supporting musicians.
Metha said, "This concept was split when A.R. Rahman visited Nagaland to take part in the renowned Hornbill Festival. We realized we needed to be a part of it. The film, produced by TaFMA and directed by Rohit Gupta, showcases the collaboration of many talented individuals.
He went on to say that the documentary will assist the state's music environment become more globalized, promote Brand Nagaland and Naga Soft Power, and, most significantly, generate interest and chances for our musicians and artists.
For many years, the Nagaland government has promoted state music and performers both within and outside of the state. The Annual Hornbill Festival is a popular attraction which showcases Naga culture and music. For years, this event has included major bands and local artists from both India and outside.
