After ‘Sacred Games’, Netflix is all set to make another Indian web series. The OTT platform is soon coming up with a prequel to India’s highest grossing film franchise ‘Baahubali’. It will be an adaptation of Anand Neelkantan’s book ‘The Rise of Sivagami’. The book depicts the story of Mahishmati queen Sivagami and how the state emerged as an empire. 

The whole and soul of the blockbuster franchise 'Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ director S.S.Rajamouli has teamed up with Arka Media Works and Netflix for the series. Season one of the Netflix original series will comprise of nine episodes.



Both the installments of Baahubali are said to be the most expensive Indian productions ever with an estimated budget of $40 million. Actors Prabhas, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati were seen in the lead roles in both the parts.
