The statue of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in black kurta and lungi which replicates his character from his recent release Sarkar 3 was unveiled on Friday by a registered fan club at Bondel Gate (South Kolkata).The 6.2 feet statue is made up of fiberglass, placed in an ornate dark green chair procured from the set.
The statue was inaugurated by All Bengal Amitabh Bachchan Fans Association (ABFA). "The 25 kg statue is of the exact height of Big B himself which is around 6.2 ft. Bachchan sir had given our club the shoes that he wore in 'Agneepath' and the same pair can be seen on the statue. 'Aks' director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had given the green chair," Rohit Patodiya of the fan club.
At the venue some members of the Big B’s fan club sported the teeka on their foreheads as well as black kurta and lungi; also the statue is a tribute to the actor’s 75th birth anniversary this year. "To us, he is a God. We have informed him about the statue. Nothing is done without informing him," said the member of the club.
