Veteran actor-director Manobala of Tamil cinema has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 69. For the past two weeks, he was battling a liver-related ailment. After Manobala's death, Tamil cinema is in mourning.

After hearing the news of Manobala's demise, many actors and directors are seen paying their respects. Many artists like actor-director GM Kumar, Ramesh Bala have paid tributes to him. Many people are shocked to hear the news of his death.

Manobala was known for his humour. He acted in more than 450 films in his 35-year career in cinema. Manobala made her acting debut in Bharathiraja's 'Puthiya Vaarpugal' in 1979. He played supporting roles in many films.

Manobala made his directorial debut in 1982 with 'Agaya Gangai'. He directed around 25 films. He directed films like 'Pillai Nila', 'Oorkavalan', 'En Purushan Thaan Enakku Mattum Thaan', 'Karuppu Vellai', 'Mallu Vetti Minor' and 'Parambariyam'. Apart from acting in serials, he also directed many TV shows. He was also very famous as a producer.
