158 birds such as leaf passerine, fisher, dhobi, Saltmarsh sparrow, rare forest pingala, black crane, malbari horn, Peregrine falcon, Short-toed snake eagle, Indian paradise flycatcherBirds have been recorded in bird observation. This year 32 more bird species have been observed in Tansa Sanctuary during the bird watching week than last year. 


The Bird Week was launched on November 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Bird scientist Dr. Salim Ali and wildlife researcher Maruti Chitampalli. Rare and endangered birds have been observed in bird watching conducted by wildlife department and bird friends in Shahapur district.


This year, a total of 158 migratory birds have been recorded, including forest pingala, black crayfish, Malabari karna, Bahiri Sasana, Turewala snake eagle, Shingla, Tisa, Tuia parrot, leaf passerine, fisher, dhobi, swamp hare, sparrows and other rare birds. A further 32 species have been recorded. Leaf bird species are still arriving and the number of birds is likely to increase. who took pictures of the birds, said that along with various species of birds, Bhringraj, Turmeric, Parrot, Owl, Kotwal, Herons, Pankavale, Kuturga, Ghar, Yellow-necked Sparrow, Pakoli, Garuda, Tisa etc were too recorded said Birdwatcher Rohidas Dagle.

Bird friends Yogesh Shid, Avinash Bhagat, Shahid Sheikh, Shantanu Dey, Prathamesh Desai, Bharat Wakh, Damu Dhadwad, Akshay Ghere, Rohidas Dagle participated in bird watching during the Bird Week by Owl Conservation Foundation under the guidance of Wildlife Department and Shahapur Forest Department. 


32 species such as Malabari Karna, Black Crane, Long-billed Arrow Sparrow, Cormorant, Wild Bat, Hume, Ashy Drongo, Mashimar, Mongolian Chandol, Malabari Chandol, Swamp Sasana were observed.
