Mumbaikars to witness heavy rainfall between June 7 and June 9

Mumbaikars have heaved a sigh of relief after the city witnessed its first spell of showers on June 4, 2018. However, it is now time for the citizens to get ready for a heavy rainfall between June 7, 2018 and June 9, 2018, confirmed Skymet Weather forecast agency.

Skymet Weather founder and CEO Jatin Singh tweeted with more information on the monsoons adding that it might rain heavily on June 08, June 09 and June 10. He added that people should stay indoors and should only go out in case of emergency.

Meanwhile,  Ajay Kumar, director of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has speculated that Goa and Mumbai will witness heavy rainfall between June 6, 2018, and June 8, 2018. According to the IMD officials, Kerala, Karnataka and Konkan too will witness heavy rainfall.


Meanwhile, on June 2, 2018, the city experienced heavy showers with thunder and lightning which claimed three lives in different incidents.

As per reports, the first incident happened at around 8.20pm. Anil Yadav and Zara Yunus Khan were declared dead when taken to Agarwal hospital in Mulund. Another incident was reported in Bhandup. A level-0 electrocution was reported at 8.30 PM at Trimurti Nivas in Bhandup East. Two children suffered in the incident, out of which one - Om Appa Phadtare (10) - was declared dead on reaching the hospital. The other, Rohan Suthar (12) was admitted for further treatment.
