In recent developments, KS Hosalikar from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that as the rainfall has receded in Mumbai, the temperatures are to reportedly rise in the month of August.

Moreover, the temperature in Mumbai has changed by seven degrees in the last three days. The temperature in Mumbai reached 33 degrees around 11.30 am on Monday, August 23. Two days ago, the temperature in Mumbai was 26 degrees. However, after the intermittent downpour across the city, the skies have cleared. Meanwhile, Hosalikar has further said that the temperature has also increased. The minimum temperature in Mumbai has risen by one degree.

Furthermore, the IMD has informed that moderate rains are expected from August 20 to September 2. Since the beginning of August, Mumbai city, suburbs, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg districts have received very little rainfall.

Temperatures have also risen due to the harsh weather and occasional light winds. The Mumbai suburbs recorded a low of 26.5 degrees Celsius and a high of 31.8 degrees Celsius a few days ago. Both showed an increase of 2 degrees compared to the average.

The two consecutive months of June and July received above-average rainfall. However, with the first 20 days of August dry, the rains are expected to return.
