Maharashtra is witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a heatwave alert for multiple districts, including Solapur and Sangli.

According to the weather department, daytime temperatures have surged across the state, with Vidarbha remaining the hottest region. Akola recorded the highest temperature at 43.1°C, while several other areas in the region also crossed the 40°C mark.

In central Maharashtra, districts such as Solapur, Sangli, and Jalgaon have also reported significantly high temperatures, prompting a yellow alert in certain areas. Officials have warned that temperatures may rise further by 2–3°C over the next few days.

Meanwhile, Mumbai and the Konkan region are experiencing hot and humid conditions. Although temperatures are relatively lower compared to interior Maharashtra, high humidity levels continue to cause discomfort for residents.

Meteorologists have attributed the rising heat to dry weather conditions and clear skies across the state. No immediate rainfall relief is expected, indicating that heatwave conditions may persist.

Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions, avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and stay hydrated.
