The intensity of rain in the state has reduced to some extent in the past few days after a short heavy rain spell in the previous weeks. Now, it has come to light that monsoon would be partially active till July-end in Maharashtra.

Similarly, the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain at isolated places of some districts of the state for the next four days starting tomorrow, July 23. These include Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Konkan.

Apart for an isolated heavy spell forecast for parts of Maharashtra on July 23-24, monsoon rain is likely to be less than normal over parts of the state during the remainder of July, officials exclaimed.

Explaining further, IMD officials said that Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and western parts of Vidarbha are likely to get near normal or marginally below normal rains from July 23-28, while Konkan may see below normal rainfall during this period. However, only during July 23-24, isolated parts of Konkan Madhya Maharashtra and during July 23-25, isolated parts of Vidarbha have a yellow warning (heavy rains at isolated spots).

The upcoming isolated heavy rain spell over Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan on July 23-25 would occur because of the wind pattern changing for a brief period.
