Now, one will get to see all the information regarding trees planted by BMC, deforestation done for projects and afforestation information on the website. CM Devendra Fadnavis said that this is being done to keep an eye on illegal deforestation. He said this at Vidhan Sabha. He has also asked for the report which has details of 25,000 trees which were cut down in the last five years. Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar mentioned about the Piramal Realty developer who cut down trees for his project in Nahur.
Many times builders don't plant trees and they click photos of saplings being planted. But lot of times, nobody talks about if these trees lived or died. Even this information should be on the website.

In the period of 2010 to 2016, BMC gave permission to cut down 25,000 trees for various projects. CM asked BMC to come out with a website which will give information about deforestation and afforestation. This website will be accessible to the public.
