According to the latest reports, on Thursday, April 28, National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) Maharashtra signed an MoU with Tata Power for EV charging points throughout its member’s developer properties in the state. With this, it is anticipated that certain parts of Maharashtra will have access to 5,000 more Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points.

Based on accounts, the MoU was signed in the presence of Maharashtra Environment Minister, Aaditya Thackeray. The minister took to Twitter to share this and said, “An MoU for 5000 EV charging stations in Mumbai, Thane and MMR region in all new developments by @NaredcoMaha supported by @TataPower. This will surely give a boost to the State’s EV adaption.”

It has been reported that these chargers will also be accessible as public/semi-public charging points in accordance with the premise’s nature. An official from Tata Power in addition to this, also added that the said initiative would augment the public EV charging infrastructure.

It is hoped that it would also propel citizens to opt for electric cars as well as two-wheelers. An official was quoted in a narrative by the Times of India elaborating on how the move would boost EV adoption in Maharashtra.

The official elucidated that Tata Power would offer installation, maintenance and up-gradation of the chargers when needed. Additionally, EV owners throughout the member's properties will have round the clock vehicle charging, monitoring, and digital payment facilities through the app remarked the official.
