There has been scattered rainfall in and around Mumbai in the last 24 hours. As per Skymet's estimates, Santacruz recorded 70 mm and Colaba recorded 22 mm rain in the last 24 hours. The southern, central and eastern suburbs witnessed moderate to heavy showers, there was no continues downpour in the city and these breaks in rain spells helped the weather to flow away.

According to the weather forecasting body, Skymet a low-pressure area is persisting over south Pakistan and adjoining the northeast Arabian Sea. An offshore trough is also extending from north Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast. In view of these weather systems, moderate to heavy showers are expected to continue over Mumbai and suburbs until July 17.

Isolated pockets of Mumbai and suburbs may get an intense spell of rains leading to waterlogging in low lying areas. Mumbaikars need not to worry, as we do not expect situation to go out of control. These on and off rain activities will certainly give much-needed relief to the Mumbaikars they added.

Patchy rains have continued in Mumbai and other areas over the last week, with few heavy spells of shower in few areas. There was a slight relief in the weather for a few days but continued to be humid as well. The weather has been windy for the past a few days.
