Monsoon to get delayed in Mumbai: SkyMet

SkyMet has predicted rain deficiency in entire Maharashtra in June and July but there's hope to have a ample of rainfall in August and September.

While there is a rise in temperature in Mumbai, on the other hand, there is a possibility of the rain getting delayed in Mumbai this year. Weather forecast agency SkyMet has stated that the rains in Mumbai this year may occur between June 15 and June 18 or by June 20. Last year, the monsoon commenced on June 9 in Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has cut 10 per cent of the water supply across the city to restore the stock until the rain arrives. The seven lakes that supply water in Mumbai had less than 15 per cent of the stock till May 12. SkyMet has predicted rain deficiency in entire Maharashtra in June and July but there's hope to have enough rainfall in August and September.  

The Meteorological Department has predicted that there can be high tides during August and September and therefore the sewage problem of the city must be taken under consideration by the civic authorities at the earliest.
