On Thursday, February 3, Mumbai's air quality was in the "moderately polluted" section with an AQI of 180, stated on aqi.in, reports mentioned. On the other hand, on Wednesday, February 2, the AQI was 166.

According to accounts, the report also remarked that the PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations in the island city are 104 and 194 respectively. Based on narratives, it has been advised by experts that one should avoid outdoor exercises. They have also remarked that people should attempt to remain indoor with purifiers. Adding that if one is stepping out they should wear N95 masks.

Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is an air pollutant that is a problem for one's health if its levels are high in the air. This particulate matter also reduces visibility and results the air to be hazy if its levels are elevated. 

It has been reported that the outdoor PM2.5 levels could possibly be rise on those days where there is little or no wind or air mixing.

On the other hand, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is a signal to measure the air quality in an area. Measured from 0 to 500, the higher the vale, greater the pollutants levels in the air which has a greater impact on one's health.
