Rain has been heavy in Mumbai and its surrounding areas since early morning on Tuesday and a high tide is expected to hit the sea at 12.49 pm on Tuesday. At this time, waves of 4.72 meters height are going to hit the beach. The highest tide of this month will come on Wednesday and the sea will have high tides for six days in a row this week.

Surrounded by the sea on all sides, Mumbai is prone to high tides during monsoons. During the rainy season, the waves of about four and a half meters high after the sea swells and the heavy rain that falls at the same time do not drain the water naturally. On the other hand, tidal water enters the city through rain channels. Due to this, water accumulates in the low-lying areas. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the schedule of monsoon tides, according to which the sea will get high tide every day till July 7. The biggest tide will come on Wednesday and this time the waves will be 4.78 meters high.
