Even after the withdrawal of monsoon from Mumbai, the city will be receiving heavy rains between November 6-8 as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that cyclonic storm "Maha" will be bringing heavy rains to parts of Maharashtra during aforementioned days.
According to a release from state's Disaster Management Cell, areas in north Konkan, north-central Maharashtra will experience heavy rains along with thunder and lightning from 6 November till 8 November.
The state department has accordingly advised fishermen to not venture into the sea. Alongside, district collectors have been asked to take measures to reduce the impact of "Maha".
According to IMD Ahmedabad, cyclone Maha would make landfall in Gujarat between Dwarka and Diu on the night of November 6. It predicted that its arrival will bring heavy to very heavy rains till the next day there.
It is likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm in the next six hours, the Gujarat Met Centre had said.
