Santacruz centre recorded an average maximum temperature of 39.7 degree Celsius while Thane recorded an average temperature of 42 degree Celsius.

Earlier, the maximum temperature of 39 degrees was recorded on April 22. That record was broken on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department's Colaba centre recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This temperature was 3 degrees above average. Temperatures in central Santacruz were also 6 degrees above average.

Jalgaon recorded the highest temperature (42.4) in the state on Tuesday. Below that, the highest temperature was recorded in Thane-Belapur centre. Meanwhile, along with Mumbai, Thane, Raigad will continue to experience heat waves but its intensity will be less. Also, some parts of Konkan are likely to experience heat waves, the weather department has informed. It has also been explained that after the next two to three days, the temperature may drop by another 2 to 3 degrees. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned that the heat wave will continue on Wednesday as well.


Declare holidays for schools: Raj Thackeray

Considering the rising mercury in the temperature in the state, it is directly affecting the school students. Therefore, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray has demanded the government to intervene in this matter and declare summer vacation for schools. Raj Thackeray demanded holidays for schools in a post through social media.
