According to the latest reports, May has commenced with not much difference between day and night temperatures, however, high humidity levels have caused discomfort in Mumbai

Based on accounts, the minimum temperature on Monday, May 2, in the morning was 27.6 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature by evening for nearly 35 degrees. 

Nonetheless, it has been reported that the city has received respite for the heat-wave like conditions that were in force last week. Last week, the maximum temperature crossed 38 degrees. 

Similarly, the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast for the next 24 hours predicts a maximum temperature of 35 degrees and minimum temperatures of 27 degrees with likely clear skies.

On Monday, IMD's Colaba and Santacruz observatories registered minimum temperatures of 26.5 degrees Celsius and 27.6 degrees Celsius respectively. On the other hand, the maximum temperatures were 34.3 degrees Celsius and 34.7 degrees Celsius consequentially. 

Likewise, the relative humidity recorded by the Colaba observatory was 73 per cent, whilst that of the Santacruz observatory was 64 per cent. 

Moreover, the weather forecast by the IMD for Tuesday, May 3 not only predicts a cloudy sky but has predicted the maximum temperature to be 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature to be 27 degrees Celsius.
