Mumbai – It is mandatory for the societies, malls and hotels having the area more than 20,000 sq mt to generate compost fertiliser. But it came to fore that such big societies, malls and hotels do not follow this rule. Hence, municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta has directed the concerned civic officials to take action against those found violating this rule. Mehta held a review meeting of the concerned officials on Saturday and instructed them accordingly. He also directed the civic officers to identify the places where rain water had accumulated during the rainy season in 2016 and complete monsoon related works before May 2017. A decision to conduct mapping of the water hydrants in the municipal corporation area was taken in this meeting. This information will be made available on the website and app of the natural disaster management cell so that fire brigade can take benefit of the available water sources in the time of need.
