Prior to the implementation of Code of Conduct (CoC) for the Assembly Elections, the state will witness the implementation of CoC for Ganpati 2019 as the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samanway Samiti has announced the regulations for Ganesh Chaturthi this year.

Accordingly, the Ganpati Mandals will have to comply with the regulations set by the Samiti which has introduced the regulations to ensure a hassle-free Ganesh Chaturthi for the citizens. Some of the prominent rules consist of demanding the Mandals to comply with Sound Pollution Norms. Alongside, they have also been directed to not claim donations by force since it is not compulsory for an individual to donate.

More importantly, the Mandals have laid emphasis on cutting out the use of plastic bags completely. The Mandals have also been instructed to make necessary arrangements in case of accidents.

The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samanway Samiti President, Dr. Naresh Dahibavkar said that the Code of Conduct has been introduced after the Ganpati Mandals faced criticism from the people last year. This includes the Mandal workers' rash behaviour, their rude attitude towards devotees, which has hurt the Ganpati Mandals' image.

Meanwhile, the Code of Conduct has strictly instructed the Mandal workers to follow the Noise Pollution rules. Accordingly, the Mandals have been allowed only four days designated by the Samiti to play music till 12:00 am. On all the other days, the music can only be played till 10:00 pm.

Alongside, the Mandals are asked to only play devotional songs and refrain from playing Bollywood music.
