Dadar celebrates Gudi Padwa in traditional style

Dadar east was decorated with big rangolis, dhol tasha, lejhim groups, traditional clothing on the occasion of Gudi Padwa festival. More than 5000 residents had participated in the 'Shobha Yatra'. State finance minister Deepak Kesarkar, MLA Kalidas Kolambkar, Corporator Urmila Panchal and other dignitaries were present.

Every year, this mandal propagates one social cause through the shobha yatra. This year, they tried creating awareness about women’s issues, be it child marriage, dowry killings and female infanticide. Apart from holding placards which spoke about respecitng women, they also flaunted photos of successful women who made their mark. Along with this, mallkhamb was also performed.

The shobha yatra from Dadasaheb Phalke road and it passed from Dr. Ambedkar Road, Mumbai Marathi Granth Sangrahalay Marg, Mahatma Phule road, Govind Keni road and it concluded at Bhavani Mata Mandir road.
