Ganeshotsav 2023: BEST's special 27 buses will run overnight for 10 days

The Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has hired nearly 1,500 buses from across Mumbai, Thane and suburbs to ferry local residents to their native lands in Konkan and Western Maharashtra.

On the occasion of 10-days Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which begins tomorrow, September 19, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has decided to run 27 night buses.

These buses will run between 11 pm to 6 am from September 19 to 27. The special buses will run from CSMT to Sion, Worli to Kalachowkie, Nagpada to Oshiwara, Sewree to Dindoshi, Pydhonie to Vikhroli, Nagpada to Shivaji Nagar, Museum to Deonar, Girgaon to Sandhurst Road station and Museum to Sewree.

This facility will be beneficial for the devotees, who visit at several places for Bappa's darshan, during the festivity.

Moreover, keeping in mind the upcoming elections, political parties are pulling out all stops to ensure they shower their prospective voters with festive goodies, including free travel to native places, ritual kits and cash prizes for household Ganpati decorations.

Besides, this year the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that it will provide free parking services provided for 24 hours on the last day, which is called as Ganesh Visarajn (immersion) at the public parking lots near the immersion site.

The public transport body in Pune also has decided to ply an additional over 800 special buses on between September 20-28 for the Ganeshotsav. Regular bus services will stop at 10 pm on the above days, while the special service will continue till 2 am.
