Insurance cover will be given to 75 thousand Govindas in view of accidents during construction of human pyramids during Dahi Handi festival and Pro-Govinda League competition. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode said that a government order has been issued in this regard.
Minister Bansode said that during the Dahi Handi festival, Govinda, a member of the Pro Govinda League, is prone to accidents while constructing human pyramids. Due to this, there is a possibility of an accident with some Govindas, death of Govinda or serious injury to them.
For this, in addition to the 50,000 Govinds provided insurance as per the decision of the government on August 18, 2023, approval has been given to provide insurance cover to 25,000 more Govinds.
